A second album Jeff Beck Group (July 1972) was recorded at TMI studios in Memphis, Tennessee with the same personnel. Beck employed Steve Cropper as producer and the album displayed a strong soul influence, five of the nine tracks being covers of songs by American artists.

Overview. The album is unique for Beck in that it is composed mainly of vocal songs, save for two instrumentals in the form of “Escape” and “You Know, We Know” (each written by his longtime collaborators Jan Hammer and Tony Hymas respectively).
